Click here to see Eve's profileA: Funny you should ask! About a week ago, I wondered what the hell my Aussi neighbor was talking about when she said she saw "bandicoots" in our laundry room. She meant raccoons, and that's what they call them where she came from. Oddly, another Australian neighbor didn't know what bandicoots were either. She had a different name for them that escapes me right now, but it was equally ridiculous. It seems that different parts of Australia have different funny names for raccoons. So they do exist there, but don't bother trying to strike up a raccoon-themed conversation with an Aussi as you will probably both end up confused. They can't even talk about raccoons amongst each other unless they are from the same region!
